Oscars 2023: Reactions As Tems and Rihanna Lose Best Original Song Award to Naatu Naatu

 Nigerian international star Tems, who became the first Nigerian artist to be nominated, failed to bag an award at the 95th Oscars Awards, which took place on Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. 

Recall that Tems was nominated alongside Rihanna in the Best Original Song for co-writing ‘Lift Me Up’, a soundtrack used on the Hollywood hit movie Black Panther. 


However, the category was won by Naatu Naatu from the Bollywood movie RRR, which made it the first Indian film song to win an Oscar.

Fire Guts ‘Nameless Lodge’ in Gwallameji, Properties Destroyed

                 Residents try to put off the fire A late-night fire outbreak on Monday ravaged a residential lodge known as Nameless Lodge , located behind Gwallameji Primary School in the Gwallameji area of Bauchi. While no lives were lost, several properties and personal belongings were completely destroyed before emergency responders arrived. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started at about 6:45 p.m., sending residents of the lodge and neighboring buildings into a panic as thick smoke and flames engulfed the compound. The cause of the fire remains unknown as of the time of filing this report. Efforts by bystanders to contain the blaze proved futile, and it took some time before the fire service arrived at the scene.
