Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Set to Refund NELFund Tuition Fees to Beneficiaries

In a move that brings relief and joy to many students, the management of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has reaffirmed its commitment to refunding tuition fees paid by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) for the 2024/2025 academic session, as well as the remaining balances for beneficiaries of the 2023/2024 session.

This assurance was given by the institution’s bursar, Malam Samma'una Nuhu, during a recent meeting with the Students' Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Haruna Umar, held on Monday.

According to Malam Samma'una, the institution has already prepared a payment voucher worth over ₦15 million to kickstart the refund process. He emphasized the school’s readiness to ensure that every beneficiary receives the exact amount remitted by NELFund without delay or deductions.

“We've prepared a voucher of over ₦15 million to start refunding the students' money. We will make sure that all students get their money as sent to us without any hitches,” he said.

The bursar also clarified that the delay in the disbursement was largely due to submission of inaccurate account details by some students. However, he assured that the student account officer has now verified all the submitted details and the refund process will begin imminently.

Reacting to the development, SUG President Comrade Haruna Umar expressed gratitude to the bursar and the entire management of the institution for their continued support and transparency in handling students’ welfare issues. He commended their tireless efforts in ensuring that students receive their refunds promptly.

The news has been met with excitement among NELFund beneficiaries, who have eagerly awaited updates on the refund process.

Students are advised to stay informed through official SUG and school communication channels for updates on the commencement of payment.
