Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a Nigerian senator, has alleged that the senate operates like a cult in the country.

Recall that Natasha Akpoti was suspended after she submitted a petition accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.

While speaking to BBC, the Nigeria Senate has instilled fear in everyone including the opposition hence no one can stand up for themselves.

She disclosed that many people are quiet due to the fear of the institution and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Natasha further disclosed that anyone who challenges the senate president is at risk of losing their privileges hence the silence from everyone.

“The Nigerian Senate operates like a cult. The Senate president runs the Senate like a dictator, not a democrat. There is no freedom of speech, there is no freedom of expression and anyone who dares to go against him gets cut to size,” the 45-year-old said in the first TV interview with BBC.
