Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Set to Refund NELFund Tuition Fees to Beneficiaries

  In a move that brings relief and joy to many students, the management of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has reaffirmed its commitment to refunding tuition fees paid by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) for the 2024/2025 academic session, as well as the remaining balances for beneficiaries of the 2023/2024 session. This assurance was given by the institution’s bursar, Malam Samma'una Nuhu, during a recent meeting with the Students' Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Haruna Umar, held on Monday. House Passes Bill to Jail Non-voters for Six Months for Second Reading, Enforce Voting

The House of Representatives, has passed for second reading a bill seeking to make voting compulsory for Nigerians of voting age. The Bill also proposed imposing a maximum of six months imprisonment or a fine of no more than N100,000 for Nigerians of voting age, who failed to vote during elections.                  Residents try to put off the fire A late-night fire outbreak on Monday ravaged a residential lodge known as Nameless Lodge , located behind Gwallameji Primary School in the Gwallameji area of Bauchi. While no lives were lost, several properties and personal belongings were completely destroyed before emergency responders arrived. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started at about 6:45 p.m., sending residents of the lodge and neighboring buildings into a panic as thick smoke and flames engulfed the compound. The cause of the fire remains unknown as of the time of filing this report.
